More Information
This delicious Rwandan coffee may be a new edition to our premium range, but it’s one we’ve been loving at the roastery for a few months now and one we’ve been excited to share with you. Its rich and juicy Concord grape and mulled wine flavours were the secret ingredient to 2025’s Nadolig blend, and we believe it is a truly outstanding and exceptional example of the very best of what East African washed process coffee can be, boasting all the vibrancy, depth and sweetness you’d expect from Rwandan coffee.
The coffee is sourced through the amazing work Falcon Coffees are doing in Rwanda to source, upskill, and train farmers, smallholders, and processing stations.
Birembo itself is a coffee washing station in Nyamasheke District, in the Western Province of Rwanda. Established in 2013 and managed by Habinshuti Oreste, the station serves 503 registered smallholders growing bourbon arabica, with an average annual cherry intake of 600 metric tonnes. Processing is fully washed with 12-15 hours of fermentation using six fermentation tanks and 132 raised drying beds. During peak season, the station provides roughly 70 good jobs.
Producer support and training in Nyamasheke is provided, complimented by rainforest alliance training for certified producers.
Every saturday morning we come together to run, drink coffee, swim in the local lake and then usually drink more coffee. Welcome to all.
All our coffee is sourced from suppliers who share this view and comes with a guarantee that everyone has been treated fairly along the supply chain.
