More Information
With four generations of coffee growers in the family, Primavera has sprung from a rich tradition in coffee. Having operations in Guatemala allows the team at Primavera to find the best coffees, and their lean and efficient logistics grants roasters like us easy and safe access to work with the producers in a more direct and transparent trade.
Sourcing directly from the coffee growers shortens the supply chain, allowing us to give them more of the financial benefits for their coffee. Not only is the price fairer for the producer, this form of direct trade allows farmers to be recognized for superior quality, efforts and enthusiasm. Primavera is constantly working with the individual farmers on ways to improve the quality of their harvest in order to receive higher premiums as well as producing lots that can be sold as their own micro-lots or spectacular single-origin coffees.
This particular lot has been put together by a collection of 10-15 small producers who are part of the Primavera family, and who are working hard to improve quality to reach even greater heights in the future. The higher prices these farmers have received this year will enable them to re-invest in their farms and wet-mills enabling them to sell at higher prices in the future.
All coffee is harvested and processed on each individual farm before been sun-dried on patios. Primavera has then combined these lots to make a fantastic affordable blend, full of chocolate notes associated with coffee from the Heuhuetenango region.
Every saturday morning we come together to run, drink coffee, swim in the local lake and then usually drink more coffee. Welcome to all.
All our coffee is sourced from suppliers who share this view and comes with a guarantee that everyone has been treated fairly along the supply chain.
