We don’t have favourites here at the roastery, but if we did then Agri Evolve certainly would be in the mix. Ever since Steff’s visit in 2021, we have loved buying their coffee year on year and we are always blown away by the quality of all their crops. Their ‘natural’ processed coffee has become a house favourite of ours, and the latest harvest they have brought has all the lovely fruity, juicy and funky flavours we’ve come to expect from their coffee.

Our latest offering comes from Kalingwe, a community high in the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains in the far west of Uganda. Agri Evolve have been working with groups of farmers in this area for the past 8 years and have developed excellent relationships. The Farmers understand the requirements for fully ripe red cherries, freshly harvested, and are paid top prices on the day of delivery. It’s a relationship of trust, support and commitment.

Within the Kalingwe area there are 5 farmer groups with a total of 150 farmers. In addition to helping the farmers develop their coffee production, Agri Evolve are providing energy efficient stoves for members of the groups, and providing tree seedlings for farmers to plant. Due to the hard work of Agri Evolve, local farmers have increased their confidence in the reliability of the structures Agri Evolve has in place, and so they can plan to increase production, and thus improve their livelihoods through more successful and profitable farming.
